Microsoft gives gamers a peek at new Xbox
The next Xbox will include an online marketplace where game developers will be able to sell additional content and features, such as new game levels or weapons, to video-game players. Ultimately, the players will also be able to sell and trade items, such as custom cars for racing games, among themselves. The console will incorporate more consistent graphical elements, such as on-screen "gamer cards" and program alerts, which will be evident across different games. Microsoft says the aim is a more uniform underlying experience for video-game players and less work for video-game developers.
